Tampa, Fla.-based PMSI, a specialty services provider for the workers' compensation industry and liability markets, announced today that Eileen Auen is joining the company as chairman and chief executive officer.
"We are delighted to partner again with Eileen to help build on PMSI's highly successful heritage and become the preeminent specialty services provider for the workers' compensation industry. Eileen is a highly regarded executive with proven experience leading world-class health care and workers' compensation companies. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work together again," said Rick Rosen, managing director of parent firm H.I.G. Capital and PMSI board member.
PMSI said Ms. Auen, who starts her job next Monday, brings nearly 20 years of executive experience in workers' comp and health care. Most recently, she was the head of health care management for Aetna Inc., the nation's third-largest health insurer.
Directly prior to her Aetna position, she served as CEO of APS Healthcare, specialty services company, where H.I.G. was the largest shareholder.
Mark Hollifield, PMSI president, said Ms. Auen's scope of industry expertise is an addition to the leadership team "as we look to further enhance the customer experience, drive down claim and settlement costs, utilize new technologies, and leverage PMSI's deep domain expertise."
"This is a natural fit for my background and I'm excited to take PMSI to the next level," Ms. Auen said in a statement.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of ICF International, a global consulting firm. She will be based at PMSI's Tampa headquarters, reporting directly into the Board of Directors.
