The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. said it is seeking nominees for its Distinction of Professionalism Awards. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 17, 2009.
PIACT's award honors insurance professionals who "exemplify the qualities and actions that serve as an example of excellence in the insurance industry and for the independent agency system."
Awards for which nominations are being sought include:
o Professional Agent of the Year: an agent who demonstrates excellence and achievement in insurance marketing and service; exhibits a personal commitment to professionalism; and contributes to PIA and the local community.
o Company Person of the Year: an individual who illustrates qualities that best foster sound working relationships between insurance agent and company.
o Community Service Award: For an agent who has taken a leadership role in a significant activity for the betterment of the community and its individuals.
o Associate Member of the Year: New for 2009. This award is given to a PIACT associate member that provides valuable products or services to professional insurance agents and brokers, and supports PIA and the independent agency system.
The awards will be presented to the winners March 16-17, 2009 during PIACT's 2009 Annual Convention at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.
