Duncan Alexander, the president of American Livestock Insurance, is retiring. He will be replaced by David Christensen, the parent company, Hiscox Group, said today.
"Duncan has led American Livestock for over 25 years, growing it to the company it is today. We would like to thank him for his significant contribution to the success of the organization, particularly during its integration with Hiscox," said Ed Donnelly, president of Hiscox USA.
He added, "David Christensen's extensive experience in both the insurance and agricultural industries positions him well to take American Livestock Insurance to the next stage of its growth plan."
Mr. Christensen joined the organization earlier this year. Mr. Alexander will retire on Jan. 31, 2009.
Based in Geneva, Ill., American Livestock Insurance is a licensed insurance carrier in all 50 states and is primarily involved in livestock mortality. Coverage is also provided in other parts of the world with special emphasis on Australia and South Africa. The company was acquired by Bermuda-based Hiscox Group in 2007.
