Tropics Software Technologies, Inc. (TST), a provider of solutions to the workers' comp insurance industry, unveiled its future plans and long-term market direction for SOA-based software by leveraging the latest in .NET 3.5 technology platforms.
Tropics software will be based on Microsoft .NET and comprised of four major products: Tropics-POLICY, Tropics-CLAIMS, Tropics-BILLING, and Tropics-LP (Loss Prevention). These products can be deployed as a suite for an end-to-end workers' compensation solution or separately to work in conjunction with other products or in-house systems. Over the last year, a group of TST designers and architects have completed the basic framework including the database design, database layer, and most of the shared services. Work now has begun on the business and user interface layers.
To expedite development of these interfaces, TST has selected a development partner to leverage a combination on-shore/offshore model.
The first release of Tropics-POLICY is planned for mid-2009 with the Tropics-BILLING, Tropics-CLAIMS, and Tropics-LP products to follow quickly through 2009 and early 2010.
"By investing years of experience and domain expertise in workers' compensation in a robust platform, we will be able to provide the industry with the best possible solution backed and supported by the most experienced staff in this space," says Mike Mobar, CEO of TST. "We are very excited about the project, and we know it is going to be an astounding success."
