The Delaware Captive Insurance Association (DCIA) said today that William Poole, Ph.D., former chief executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, will address the association's annual conference with a speech on U.S. economic policy and its market effects.
Titled "Risk Finance at the Crossroads," the conference will take place Oct. 7-8 in Wilmington, Del.
DCIA said other conference topics include the proposed federal oversight and expansion of the National Risk Retention Act as well as how to manage captive investments in changing times.
Mr. Poole will discuss significant touchstones of economic policy in the U.S., including the Federal Reserve Board's ideology, the state of government sponsored enterprises (GSE's) such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and current macroeconomic factors affecting the markets, DCIA said.
His discussion will clarify how these factors relate to one another and what risk managers and business might expect in the near future, DCIA said.
The Annual Conference coincides with Mr. Poole's joining the University of Delaware to serve as a Distinguished Scholar in Residence at the Lerner College of Business and Economics.
