James River Insurance Company and its affiliate James River Management Company Inc. said Joseph F. Morris has been named president and chief executive officer for the companies effective Aug. 25.
He recently served as President and CEO of The Philadelphia Contributionship. He was president of United America Indemnity, Ltd., a specialty insurance holding company and president and CEO of Penn-America Group, a specialty property and casualty company with extensive excess and surplus lines writings. Prior to serving as president and CEO of Penn-America Group he was its chief financial officer.
Mr. Morris replaces Michael P. Kehoe who left the company in early March to pursue other options, a company spokesman said.
James River Insurance Company is an excess and surplus lines insurance company with offices in Richmond, Va.
