Political strategist James Carville and motivational speaker Vince Lombardi Jr. will address this year's Syracuse Insurance Day Conference in Syracuse, N.Y., the organizers said.
Sponsoring organizations for the Oct. 9 gathering include the Independent Insurance Agents of Central New York Inc.; the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Society, Syracuse Chapter; and the Syracuse Insurance Professionals.
The event is the 48th annual meeting of the tradeshow, which is open to the public and provides donations to Central New York charities. This year's recipient is the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund.
Mr. Carville, the headline speaker, played a pivotal role in the successful 1992 presidential campaign of then Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton. He was co-host of CNN's Crossfire until its cancellation in June 2005.
Mr. Carville co-wrote the bestseller, "All's Fair: Love, War and Running for President," with his wife, the Republican strategist and consultant Mary Matalin and writer Peter Knobler.
Motivational speaker Vince Lombardi Jr., son of the National Football League's legendary coach, will discuss how he "has spent the past 22 years traveling around the country spreading his message of leadership." His career includes law, politics and executive-level positions in the NFL and the former United States Football League.
The meeting will take place at the Oncenter Convention Center in Syracuse.
