Grand Cayman Island-based United America Indemnity, Ltd. announced yesterday that Scott Reynolds has been appointed president of United National Group, one of UAI's three U.S. divisions.
The company said his appointment is effective July 28. UAI's U.S. operation also includes Penn-America Group and Diamond State Group.
Mr. Reynolds, the firm said, has over 20 years of industry experience and most recently served as president for the Charlotte, N.C.-based AmWINS Group Inc., specialty underwriting division.
He will report to Larry A. Frakes, president and chief executive officer of UAI and its subsidiary, United America Indemnity Group Inc.
Mr. Frakes noted in a statement that the new appointee has "actuarial acumen" and "extensive experience within the wholesale distribution community and specifically in the program arena" that will help with program enhancement and expansion of program administrator relationships.
UAI's separate U.S. divisions offer wholesale producers excess & surplus lines and specialty admitted products operating from facilities in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, California, Arizona, Michigan and Illinois.
