Ernesta G. Procope, chairman and founder of E.G. Bowman Company, has been honored for a lifetime of accomplishment by the National African American Insurance Association, New York Tri-State Chapter.

“We honor Ernesta Procope for her accomplishments as a pioneer in the insurance industry,” said Benjamin Straker, president of the New York Tri-State Chapter. “She paved the way for us, and we are truly grateful.”

The Pioneering Award was given at a recent chapter meeting held at American International Group in New York.

Ms. Procope's previous honors, among many others, include the Turner Broadcasting System's Trumpet Award, induction into the African American Business Hall of Fame & Museum, The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research's 25 Most Innovative Agents in America Award, Essence magazine's Power Award, and induction into the Minority Business Hall of Fame and Museum.
