Chicago-based insurance broker Hub International Limited announced it has acquired United Benefit Consulting Inc. (UBC), a Long Island, N.Y.-based firm. Financial terms were not released.

Hub said UBC was formed in 1972 and specializes in employee benefit consulting services. The company services clients in a wide variety of industries.

The employees of UBC will continue to work from their existing office in Smithtown, N.Y., Hub said. Susan Sajiun-Fitzharris, president of UBC, will join Hub Northeast as vice president, reporting to Thomas L. Mangan, president of Hub Northeast's Employee Benefit Practice.
