The Professional Insurance Agents of Washington/Alaska said Mark Balcos was elected president during the group's annual conference.
Mr. Balcos is with Balcos Insurance in Seattle.
The association also announced the election of the following members from its recent convention, all for one-year terms:
o David Babbitt with Babbitt Insurance Group in Enumclaw, Wash., president-elect.
o Barbara Kaiser of Sunset Insurance Agency in Olympia, Wash., vice-president.
o Jim Starr with Starr, Starr & Totton in Spokane, Wash., treasurer.
o Jack McCalmant with Big Bend Insurance in Davenport, Wash., and Ray Peretti with Hub Insurance Agency in Renton, Wash., representatives to the PIA Western Alliance.
o Rich Biggs of Biggs Insurance Agency in Vancouver, Wash., immediate past-president and PIA national director.
o Jim Frost with Bell Anderson Insurance in Kent, Wash., board member.
The association also announced that Heidi Duncan of Duncan Insurance in Olympia was named PIA Washington/Alaska Agent of the Year. Jim Adair of Mutual of Enumclaw was named the 2006 PIA Washington/Alaska Company Person of the Year.
Andrea Davidson of Western States Insurance Agency in Richland, Wash., was named the PIA Washington/Alaska CSR of the Year.
Barbara Kaiser of Sunset Insurance Agency in Olympia received the PIA Washington/Alaska American Association of Managing General Agencies Award and was named the association's Chairperson of the Year.
