Warren, N.J.-based Chubb Corp. said Vice Chairman and Chief Administrative Officer John J. Degnan has been promoted to chief operating officer at the insurer.

Mr. Degnan, 63, who will continue as vice chairman, has been with the firm for 17 years. He is a former New Jersey attorney general.

The company said three executives, who will report to Mr. Degnan, were also promoted.

Paul J. Krump, 48, was promoted to executive vice president and chief underwriting officer, responsible for Chubb Commercial Insurance, Chubb Personal Insurance, Chubb Specialty Insurance and Surety. He previously headed Chubb Commercial Insurance.

Harold L. Morrison Jr. was promoted to executive vice president and chief global field officer, in charge of the company's U.S. and international field operations. He was previously in charge of U.S. field operations.

Dino E. Robusto was promoted to executive vice president and chief administrative officer, in charge of claims, information technology, human resources, communications, administrative services and external affairs. He most recently headed the company's worldwide claims operations.

Chubb Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer John D. Finnegan said the promotions “give us the right organization to move forward now and to position Chubb for the next generation of leadership.”
