The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers announced today that its upcoming conference, which has been moved from the Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., due to labor problems, will take place in Las Vegas.
CIAB said the 95th annual Insurance Leadership Forum, Oct. 4-8, will be held at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas, and the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort.
The Council noted that the two hotels are situated approximately 15 miles from Las Vegas' McCarran Airport and roughly a half-hour from the Vegas strip.
The Ritz and Loews, CIAB said, are located across the lake from one another and about one mile by road, but the Council said shuttle buses will run continuously between the hotels during the conference, and there will be boats to take guests directly across the lake as well.
In its nearly 100 years of operation, this will be the first time the conference has been held at a venue other than the Greenbrier. The Council announced earlier it would relocate this year's conference from the West Virginia resort where nine employee unions have been working without a contract since the end of January.
