InsWeb Corp., an online insurance marketplace, today announced that Jaimie Pickles has resigned his position as president and chief operating officer of InsWeb, effective June 30.

Mr. Pickles' duties will be assumed by founder, chairman and chief executive officer Hussein Enan. A spokeswoman said in an e-mail that the company is not actively looking for a replacement.

Mr. Pickles' career at InsWeb began in March 1999, heading up InsWeb's sales and client development functions before being named president and COO of Sacramento, Calif.-based InsWeb in 2007.

"I have decided that, after nine-plus years, it is time to move on and start a company that will focus on helping early-stage, undiscovered companies develop new business within the insurance industry," Mr. Pickles said in a statement, explaining his decision to leave.

Mr. Enan said, "We greatly appreciate Jaimie's many contributions to the company. He played a critical role in the evolution of our business model and in helping InsWeb achieve profitability."

InsWeb (NASDAQ: INSW) enables consumers to compare multiple, actionable quotes for auto, term life, health, homeowners, renters and condominium insurance offerings from many insurers.
