The Los Angeles-based Latin American Agents Association will hold its 9th annual convention and third national conference in Long Beach, Calif., June 4-8. California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner will be the keynote speaker at the events' legislative luncheon June 7th, the organization said.
“We are very pleased Commissioner Poizner will be joining us this year and are looking forward to hearing what his take is on the issues of the day,” said LAAA founder and chief executive officer Andre Urena. “He spoke at our convention in 2006 as a candidate for insurance commissioner, and we are interested in how his perspective has changed now that he has had a year-and-a-half in office.”
The four-day program, titled “LAAA University,” will feature opportunities for producers to diversify their products and services, learn about insurance lines they may not currently offer and browse through the two-day trade show, LAAA said.
The conference will feature seminars relating to all lines of insurance, from personal and commercial lines to life and health coverages and Mexican insurance. Attendees will also be provided with business tools to promote diversity in the insurance industry.
