Itasca, Ill.-based insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said it has acquired the transportation niche retail insurance agency Specialty Risk Inc. of Liberty, Mo. Financial terms of the transaction were not released.
Gallagher said Specialty Risk Inc. is a retail insurance broker providing risk management and commercial property-casualty insurance products and services to clients in North America.
The agency, founded in 1994, specializes in occupational accident insurance, corporate and fleet workers' compensation, physical damage, and non-trucking liability insurance for independent contractors, fleet and company drivers, and motor carriers in the transportation field.
Jamie Krisman, founder and chief executive of Specialty Risk, and her approximately 10 associates will continue to operate at their current location under the direction of Michael Henthorn, south central regional manager of Gallagher's retail property-casualty brokerage operation.
