The Washington-based Reinsurance Association of America announced that John F. Rathgeber was elected board chairman during the organization's annual meeting that concluded Friday at Kiawah Island, S.C.
Mr. Rathgeber is president and chief executive officer of Arch Reinsurance Company.
Elected to serve with Mr. Rathgeber are vice chair Jacques G. Bonneau, president and CEO, ACE Tempest Re Group, and Secretary-Treasurer Pierre L. Ozendo, head of Americas, Client Markets Business Function, Swiss Re Group.
Executive Committee members were also elected for the 2008-2009 administrative year and include: Jacques Bonneau, Ace Tempest Re Group; Craig Johnson, Signet Star Re; Anthony Kuczinski, Munich Reinsurance America; Tad Montross, General Reinsurance Company; Scott Moore, Partner Reinsurance Company of the U.S.; Michael Morrill, Axis Reinsurance Company; Pierre Ozendo, Swiss Re Group; John Rathgeber, Arch Reinsurance Company; and James Veghte, XL Re America.
Mr. Rathgeber has served as president and chief operating officer of Arch Reinsurance Company since December 2001.
Jacques Bonneau has served as president and CEO of ACE Tempest Re Group since July 2005 and as chief executive officer since 1999.
Pierre Ozendo has served as head of Americas in the Client Markets Business Function of Swiss Re Group since January 2006.
The Reinsurance Association of America has been representing the reinsurance industry since 1968. It includes large and small, broker and direct, U.S. companies and U.S. subsidiaries of foreign companies.
