Crump Group Inc. has named John Jennings president of its wholesale property-casualty insurance services division, replacing Glenn Hargrove, who left the firm to pursue other interests.

Mr. Jennings was president of Tri-City Insurance Brokers, formerly part of BISYS, and was a key member of the senior leadership team of the recently merged commercial insurance operations of Crump, the Roseland, N.J.-based company said.

Prior to joining Tri-City in 1993, Mr. Jennings held various positions in the retail insurance industry.

Mr. Jennings will report to John Howard, president and CEO of Crump Group Inc.

"John brings a deep knowledge of the wholesale marketplace, coupled with strong industry relationships and a commitment to excellence in our organization," said Mr. Howard. "I look forward to working closely with John, our commercial insurance management team, our insurance market partners and, most importantly, our valued clients."

Mr. Jennings is the son of John Jennings, the former international editor of National Underwriter, who retired in 1999.

Crump was a Dallas-based p-c wholesaler, with Mr. Hargrove as its chief executive officer, until its private-equity owner, J.C. Flowers, acquired the wholesale business of BISYS in May.

Three months after the deal was completed, Mr. Howard, who was president of BISYS Life Insurance Services, was named president and CEO of Crump. Mr. Hargrove remained president and CEO of the p-c division.
