The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America said its Trusted Choice branding program has its 46th company partner in Ohio Mutual Insurance Group.

The Bucyrus, Ohio-based insurer began insuring farms in 1901 as the Ohio Mutual Tornado, Cyclone and Windstorm Insurance Association.

The company has an "A (Excellent)" rating from A.M. Best Co. and is currently represented by over 300 independent insurance agents. Ohio Mutual protects over 185,000 farm, home, auto and business policyholders throughout Ohio, Rhode Island, Nebraska and Kansas.

More information on the company is available at www.omig.com.

The Trusted Choice independent agent branding program was launched in 2001 by the Alexandria, Va.-based IIABA to highlight the benefits independent agencies and brokerage firms offer consumers. The program includes over 9,800 independent insurance agencies, brokerage firms and their branch locations.

Agents and brokers can also take advantage of an excess liability program for IIABA members introduced by Swiss Re's Commercial Insurance, based in Overland Park, Kan.

The company said it has launched excess liability coverage for insurance agents and brokers professional liability. Eligible risks include agencies with primary coverage through various errors and omissions carriers.

Sabrena Sally, errors and omissions insurance program leader for Swiss Re's Commercial Insurance, said the program demonstrates the company's ongoing commitment to provide products and services through the IIABA's errors and omissions program.
