Kansas City, Mo.-based Lockton said today it has teamed with a health information Web site created by AOL founder Steve Case to provide its employee benefits clients a new online resource to help improve their health and well-being.
The brokerage said its arrangement with Revolution Health will provide more than 2,200 Lockton employee benefits insurance clients in the United States with an online tool intended to help participants take control of their health care decisions.
“The rising cost of health insurance is the leading concern for companies, and requires a long-term approach,” said Mike Brewer, president of Lockton Benefit Group.
“We want to help our clients and consumers see the long-term benefits of lifestyle changes. The Revolution Health alliance will help drive those changes because it provides practical tools and information to help people monitor their health, reduce the impact of chronic disease, evaluate physicians, compare hospitals and earn rewards for healthy activities,” Mr. Brewer added.
Services offered through the Lockton-Revolution Health alliance include:
o An interactive health and wellness Web portal.
o A health risk assessment tool aimed at providing immediate results and recommendations for improving health and wellness.
o Coaching services used in combination with wellness initiatives and the health risk assessment to offer direction and ongoing encouragement as people work to improve their health.
o A team of experts who can help participants become better, more informed health care consumers through education, assistance with health insurance, decision-making support and care coordination.
o A rewards program aimed at enabling employers to encourage employees and their families to remain engaged in managing their health and reward them for doing so.
Revolution Health was founded by Mr. Case to provide unbiased health care information to participants.
