Former Massachusetts Secretary of Transportation John Cogliano has joined Lexington Insurance Company as assistant vice president of the Strategic Relationship Group (SRG), the firm said.
It also announced Steve England as president of its Landmark Insurance Company unit.
Mr. Cogliano's principal responsibility, the company said, will be to identify, expand and develop parent company American International Group's strategic relationships that can drive Lexington growth in 2008.
In addition, Lexington said he will work closely with management to develop specific strategies to maximize AIG's private equity and law firm relationships.
Mr. Cogliano served as Massachusetts transportation secretary in the administration of former Gov. Mitt Romney in 2005. Prior to that, he held senior management positions in the Massachusetts Highway Department before being appointed commissioner of the Massachusetts Highway Department in 2002.
Mr. England, Lexington said, will be responsible for building the Landmark organization with insurance products and services focused on specific industry segments and market opportunities. One of the initial focuses will be an agricultural initiative.
Mr. England has 14 years of experience with AIG, holding positions of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing, segment and branch management, to his most recent position of regional vice president.
