The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) announced the appointment of Richard J. Roberts Jr. to the RIMS 2007-2008 board of directors. He will oversee the enterprise risk management portfolio.
Mr. Roberts, who is corporate risk manager for Ensign-Bickford Industries Inc., said, “I look forward to sharing my voice in shaping the future of the risk management discipline and am thrilled to be a vital part of the Society that I have been committed to for many years.”
An active member in RIMS since 1988, Mr. Roberts served on RIMS Research Committee, RIMS Nominating Committee and is currently vice chair of RIMS Quality Advisory Council. Since 1991, he has been a member of RIMS Connecticut Valley Chapter board, serving as its president from 1997-1998. He is also a RIMS Fellow, earning the designation in 2002.
Mr. Roberts is corporate risk manager for EBI–based in Simsbury, Conn.–responsible for the development of risk programs for the company's domestic and foreign subsidiaries. EBI is the parent for subsidiaries, including pet food additives firm, a developer/manager of real estate portfolios and a manufacturer of aerospace and defense products.
