The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) said today that it has contributed $300,000 to the Spencer Educational Foundation to expand programs including MBA scholarships.
The contribution is one of the largest made to the foundation since its inception in 1979, RIMS said.
The Risk and Insurance Management Society's $300,000 contribution will go toward expanding some of Spencer Educational Foundation's most popular programs, including part-time MBA scholarships for RIMS members.
Spencer Educational also operates a student internship program, which pairs companies and RIMS chapters with risk and insurance management student interns.
It also maintains a Risk Manager in Residence program which teams risk practitioners with universities for on-site lectures and knowledge-sharing. Some of the funds, RIMS said, will go toward developing enterprise risk management (ERM)-related education through RIMS.
