P2P Link, a business unit of Fiserv, Inc., and Payerpath, Inc., part of Misys, announced an alliance to streamline the medical bill and reimbursement process between medical providers and workers' compensation payers. P2P Link is known for secure, Internet-based electronic medical bill processing for workers' compensation cases, building a network of workers' compensation payer clients. The agreement with Payerpath will enable Misys Healthcare customers to submit workers' compensation medical bills electronically.
Americans treated under workers' compensation coverage represent a small subset of all patients receiving medical care. Because of this, fewer physicians invest in the technology necessary to improve the bill processing through electronic submission. The agreement between P2P Link and Payerpath increases the number of physicians who can submit electronically workers' compensation medical bills by offering that service to Misys Healthcare customers through existing Payerpath processing capabilities.
"eBilling is a tool that helps providers and payers reduce medical billing cycle times and related costs while improving accuracy and data quality. P2P Link clients will benefit from this clearinghouse partnership as it simplifies the collection and transmission of bills electronically and does so in a manner that ensures regulatory compliance," says Mark Heinemeyer, president, P2P Link.
