Insurance brokerage network Assurex Global in Columbus, Ohio, has named Bill Jeatran board chairman.

The firm said Mr. Jeatran will be the company's 52nd chairman succeeding Paul J. Hering.

Mr. Jeatran is the chief executive officer of RJF Agencies in Minneapolis, Minn. RJF is a risk management and employee benefits agency serving middle-market companies throughout the upper Midwest.

Mr. Jeatran is a founding partner of the agency, having purchased the then one-person business in 1986. Under his leadership, RJF Agencies has grown into a $25 million full-service risk management firm.

Assurex said that Gautam Boda, a managing director of J.B. Boda & Company Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai, India, was named to its board during recent elections.

Jim Hackbarth, president and CEO of Assurex, said the election of Mr. Boda maintains the organization's commitment to building international partnerships, adding that “a board which reflects the true international nature of our organization is vital to our ongoing success and expansion.”

Returning to the board are Tom Cornish, president and CEO of Seitlin in Miami, Fla., and Johnny Pitts, co-chief manager of Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance, LLC, in Memphis, Tenn.

Founded in 1954, Assurex Global is comprised of 117 independently owned brokerage firms placing annual premiums of $23 billion.
