The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies, which first introduced a Web site in 1995, has unveiled a new site at www.progressive.com.
"This is about watching and reacting to trends to keep our site relevant to all users," says Toby Alfred, Progressive's general manager of customer acquisition. "It moves progressive.com content from static to interactive. The redesign lets users get more from their visits; share their experiences; and have their progressive.com experience delivered to them in blogs, RSS readers, and personal home pages."
The new site features easier navigation, more personalization and customization, video content, and more visuals throughout. It also features content channels as the company has joined forces with industry experts to bring exclusive content to the Web. Ziff Davis Enterprise, a leading IT media company based in New York City, will provide weekly content on www.progressive.com covering vehicle technology such as portable GPS, in-car DVDs, hybrids, and more on the site's new AutoTech channel. Lonely Planet Publications will offer weekly driving destinations articles, including places in the U.S. to visit, explore, and experience. Progressive experts will supply weekly content to help readers better understand how car insurance works.
Progressive.com also makes it easier to find a local independent agent and to get a quote directly from the company and from an agent. There's more information about all of Progressive's products, including personal and commercial auto, motorcycle, RV, boat, ATV, and personal watercraft insurance on the site. In addition, the site contains more information about coverages, such as pet health insurance, homeowners, and renters and condo insurance, available through Progressive from other companies.
"In 1995, we brought car insurance to the Web," says Alfred. "This iteration makes information personal, relevant, and easiest to use."
