Bermuda-based specialty insurer and reinsurer Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. said it has promoted two executives to head operations at two of its U.S. units.
Argo said it has named Mike Warfield president of Colony Insurance, an excess and surplus lines insurer. He succeeds Dale Pilkington, who was named president of Argo Group's U.S. operations last month.
Michael Arledge was named president of Argo Group's Select Markets segment effective Jan. 1. He will replace Thomas Johns, who plans to retire next year. Until that time, Mr. Johns will focus on emerging opportunities in Argo Group's U.S. operations and report to Mr. Pilkington, the company said.
Argo said Mr. Warfield joined Colony Insurance in July 2005 and in the last two years has been responsible for business development with particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, new product development, alternative risk, and business integration.
Mr. Arledge's industry experience includes more than 24 years of specialization in the public entity property and casualty insurance sector. He has been responsible for all operational activities of Trident as well as serving as a member of the Argonaut Group Operating Committee and as a board member for Great Central Insurance Company.
