Vertafore Names Lemecha CIO

Vertafore Inc., a provider of specialized software and information solutions for the insurance industry, has named Darryl Lemecha senior vice president and chief information officer.

According to Bothell, Wash.-based Vertafore, Mr. Lemecha's responsibilities will include leading corporate information technology strategy and hosting services for all the company's business units, including AMS Services, BenefitPoint, ImageRight and SilverPlume.

He said Mr. Lemecha's “extensive experience and strong technology vision will add essential new competencies to our team.”

Before joining Vertafore, Mr. Lemecha served as CIO for ChoicePoint, a provider of decision-making technology and information. At ChoicePoint, his responsibilities included technology shared services, security and risk management, customer support and implementation, and customer credentials management, said Vertafore.

In his role as ChoicePoint CIO, Mr. Lemecha received numerous accolades, including being named one of Computerworld's Premier 100 IT Leaders, Oracle CIO of the Quarter and a finalist for the Georgia CIO of the Year, the company added.

Prior to joining ChoicePoint, Mr. Lemecha served as senior vice president and CIO of Insignia Financial Group, said Vertafore. At Insignia, he directed the firm's strategic and emerging use of information technologies worldwide.
