Philadelphia Insurance Companies announced it is sponsoring the 15th Annual Turkey Trot, a running and walking charity event which takes place tomorrow in Chestnut Hill, Pa.

The Turkey Trot, which is expected to attract over 400 runners on Thanksgiving morning, has become a tradition within Philadelphia Insurance Companies. This year, over 25 employees and their families will not only participate in the race but also help with registration and refreshments, the company said.

The Turkey Trot consists of both a five-mile competitive run and a one-mile fun run/walk. It is a family event, and all ages are encouraged to participate.

The proceeds from the Turkey Trot benefit Face to Face http://www.facetofacegermantown.org, a social service organization which provides various programs including: soup kitchens, health centers, legal counseling and a children's summer camp.

Philadelphia Insurance Companies said it is committed to supporting the Face to Face mission of helping the health, well-being and stability of the Germantown community. This year, organizers of the Turkey Trot hope to raise $90,000 for the organization.

Registration for the 2007 Turkey Trot will begin at 7:30 am at the foot of the Forbidden Trail in Fairmont Park, Chestnut Hill. Participants are encouraged to donate one pair of gently used sneakers for the 2007 Sneaker Drive (kids or adult sizes).
