The Arlington, Va.-based Casualty Actuarial Society said Christopher S. Carlson, a consultant for Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, is the organization's new president, succeeding Thomas G. Myers.
John J. Kollar, vice president-consulting and research at Insurance Services Office (ISO), has been selected president-elect.
Mr. Carlson earned his Fellowship in the CAS in 1990. He has served on the group's executive council as vice president of professional education and, most recently, as a member of the board of directors.
He has also served on a number of CAS committees and is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Mr. Kollar earned his Fellowship in the CAS in 1975. Since then, he has served on the board and executive council as vice president of admissions and, most recently, as the vice president of enterprise risk management.
He has also served on a number of CAS committees and is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
The mission of the 4,500-member Casualty Actuarial Society is to advance actuarial science through research and education. The group includes experts in property-casualty insurance, reinsurance, finance, risk management and enterprise risk management.
