Zurich Financial Services Group announced today that Inga Beale, a former chief executive officer for Converium, was named head of its Organizational Transformation Management and Mergers & Acquisitions unit.
Ms. Beale, 44, is due to join the company on Jan. 1, 2008.
She will be a member of the group management board and will oversee the group's operational improvement program, The Zurich Way, the Zurich, Switzerland-based insurer said. She will also oversee the group's mergers and acquisitions function.
Ms. Beale succeeds Franz Wipfli, who is retiring after more than 25 years with Zurich.
Ms. Beale brings over 20 years experience in the insurance industry to Zurich, including having served as CEO of Swiss-based reinsurer Converium. She held that post from 2005 to 2007. Prior to joining Converium, she spent 14 years in leadership positions with the insurance and reinsurance operations of General Electric.
