One of the most popular and prevalent estimating systems for the claim and restoration industries has been redesigned to give it more power and make it easier to use.
Xactimate 25, a product from Xactware, boasts several changes, but one of the most useful is how the software has gone multi-lingual. Adjusters are able to input and estimate in English, French, or Spanish, and reports entered in one language can be printed in another. This kind of functionality could be extremely useful to adjusters working in regions like the Southwest, where claimants might speak a language other than English.
According to the company, the system also has a revamped summary window that allows adjusters to estimate in multiple rooms at the same time, making it easier to select rooms, enter dimensions, and edit. Xactware also said that merging multiple estimates for properties like condominiums is easier because instead of existing as separate files, the estimates can be merged by users into one combined report and presented to condominium associations.
The program's dashboard also has been updated, pulling all commonly used tools into one window. The company hopes this will allow users to better manage estimates and price lists, which has been further enhanced with a communication program that lets estimators send and receive assignments and download pricing information.
Xactimate 25 also touts the ability to perform complex estimating calculations. The company said that plumbing, insulation, and HVAC are among the one-click wizards available in the software update. Additionally, a new deck tool makes drawing and estimating exterior decks faster and easier.
