Insurance broker Brown & Brown, headquartered in Daytona Beach, Fla., announced two acquisitions: Lloyd Bennett & Company Inc. in Duluth, Ga., and Independent Insurance Associates Inc. of New Orleans. Transaction terms were not released.
Lloyd Bennett & Company's commercial property-casualty is a retail commercial insurance agency serving clients in Georgia. It has reported annualized revenues of approximately $3 million.
Leo Dwyer, Lloyd Bennet's chief executive officer and the firm's staff will join Brown & Brown's existing Atlanta area office. The Atlanta operation will move to the Duluth location.
Independent Insurance Associates is a commercial p-c agency serving clients throughout Louisiana. The firm has reported annualized revenues of $4 million.
Gordon E. Clay Jr., Bryan T. Duplantier, August C. Englehardt, George R. Gay, Thomas R. Gibson and Maurice J. Hartson III, the principals of Independent Insurance Associates, and staff will continue serving clients from their current location as a standalone operation.
