Stephen Kempf, regional director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, is scheduled to address the Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc. in January, the group said.
Mr. Kempf is expected to talk on disaster preparedness for the New York metro region Jan. 24, 2008 at PIANY's first Regional Awareness program, which will be held in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The session will also offer education sessions for continuing education credits on topics including flood insurance and errors and omissions coverage, PIANY said.
In conjunction with the meeting, the Glenmont, N.Y.-based association is seeking nominees for the Arthur I. Moll and Bernard I. Kozel Memorial Scholarships.
The deadline for application is Dec. 14.
Selected individuals will receive tuition to two certified insurance service representative seminars conducted by PIANY.
The awards will be presented during PIANY's 2008 MetroRAP meeting.
Applicants must have less than five years of experience in the insurance industry.
