Bermuda-based insurer Ironshore Inc. announced today that it has hired Joe George to serve as president of a new specialty construction unit.
The IronBuilt division, under Mr. George, is based near Boston and offers construction risks protection with an emphasis on residential wrap-up liability insurance and liability insurance for subcontractors involved in residential construction, the company said.
Bob Deutsch, chief executive officer of Ironshore, said the company views IronBuilt as “an excellent opportunity to expand our specialty insurance platform into the construction risks arena.”
He noted Mr. George's track record and reputation and more than 30 years of expertise in the specialty insurance sector, with over 20 years as a casualty underwriting executive specializing in underwriting large, unique excess and primary accounts.
Mr. George most recently operated as a program administrator for Glencoe/Lantana Insurance Companies, subsidiaries of Renaissance Re.
Ironshore provides broker-sourced specialty commercial property and casualty coverages for risks located throughout the world.
