Steven N. Weisbart, vice president and chief economist for the Insurance Information Institute, will address agents during the 26th annual Downstate Insurance Associations Council meeting next month in New York.
Mr. Weisbart will be the luncheon speaker at the Nov. 1 event in Huntington, N.Y.
A panel of former New York insurance superintendents will also discuss "The Insurance Industry: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow." Among the superintendents attending will be Howard Mills, Greg Serio, James Corcoran, Sal Curiale and Al Lewis.
Albert J. Beer, professor of insurance and actuarial science at The School of Risk Management at St. John's University, will moderate the panel.
Also, The Treiber Group will be honored as General Agent of the Year, and Kelvin Hazzard, branch vice president of CAN, will be honored as Company Person of the Year.
