An online hazard mapping firm said its report locating where the highest winds will occur along Connecticut rivers, bays and inlets has received a state okay.
CDS Business Mapping, LLC said the report available through its CDS' RiskMeter Online service can be used by insurers to enforce their distance to coast underwriting guidelines.
Connecticut Department of Insurance has approved the coastline report, CDS said.
Jamie Munson, director of consulting Services, CDS Business Mapping, said the department had issued a report on maintaining the coastal insurance market, which states that insurers are to use a specific methodology to enforce their coastal underwriting practices. "By using the RiskMeter and our standardized coastline, carriers can be assured they are in compliance," she said.
CDS said it had worked with the Connecticut department to create a coastline report meeting the state's parameters. The report is available through the RiskMeter Online. More information is available from Jamie Munson at 860-854-6125 or jmunson@cdsys.com.
