An interactive workshop that goes beyond risk identification, quantification and mapping, offering ways enterprise risk management can create measurable value in a company, is being offered by the Risk & Insurance Management Society.

The two-day workshop, "Enterprise Risk Management--Building a collaborative environment to sustain ERM," is to take place Oct. 15-16 at the RIMS offices in New York.

Risk managers who have just begun the ERM process in their organization will examine the different models that can be used. Those who wish to sustain or expand a their program will learn strategies on building a collaborative environment, examining drivers that can add new, measurable value.

Topics for day one include:

o Introducing or sustaining the ERM process.

o ERM and Six-Sigma.

o Credit Rating Agencies.

o A Harvard Case Study of an early adopter of ERM.

Day two topics include:

o ERM and captive insurers.

o Brand and reputation impairment.

o Benefits of aggregating risks into a portfolio

o Using ERM for compliance.

Courses will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. on both days. Those attending the workshop may earn credit towards the RIMS Fellow designation.

The meeting will be held at the new RIMS Office in Manhattan, at 1065 Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue).
