Deborah Jallad, president and CEO of the Winter Park-based Accredited Surety & Casualty Company, Inc., has been appointed to the Florida Commission on the Status of Women by Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum.

Founded in 1991, the commission is mandated to study and make annual recommendations to the governor, cabinet, and legislature on issues affecting women and business. Jallad joins 21 other appointees from around the state. Jallad, who has a longstanding commitment to public service, also serves on the board of directors for Harbor House, which is Orange County's Center for Domestic Violence. She and her family recently contributed $250,000 to help build Winter Park Memorial Hospital's Women's Health Center, one of the largest donations ever received by the hospital.
