William H. Malone Jr. was named the chairman of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New Jersey during the group's 114th annual conference this week.
Mr. Malone, executive vice president of Continental Marmorstein & Malone in Paramus, N.J., will serve a one year term.
Jacqueline Frank, president of Tri-County Agency of Bricktown, N.J., will serve as chairwoman-elect. Terry Ryan, chief executive officer and president of Hanson & Ryan in Totowa, N.J., was named vice chairman, and Charles S. Stults III, president of Allen and Stults in Hightstown, N.J., will continue as state national director.
Brian F. Durkin, president of the Durkin Agency in Englewood and Ramsey, N.J., was named past-chairman.
The Young Agents Council for IIABNJ named Tee Atkins, commercial sales executive of Allsopp & Company in Summit, N.J., as its chairman. Daniel W. Wyrsch of Van Dyk Group in Manahawkin, N.J., was named chairman elect.
Also honored during the conference were:
o Marianne Speakman of Chibbaro Brothers in North Brunswick, N.J., received the Richard C. Hardenbergh Community Service Award.
o Michael F. McGrath, of The Van Dyk Group in Beach Haven Terrace, N.J, received the Young Agent of the Year Award.
o Robert P. Aitkens of McCue Insurance Inc. of Little Silver, N.J. received the Howard Kucher IIABNJ Board Member of the Year award.
o Denise M. Clayton of the Ronan Agency in Bricktown, N.J.; Karen Jamison, IIABNJ Technical Affairs Representative; Jennifer Matthies, IIABNJ Director of Education, and Louis Sofianakos of AAA NJ Insurance Agency of Florham Park, N.J. received the American Association of Managing General Agents Achievement award.
