The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents 2007 said it has given its Company Award of Excellence for a carrier's support of agents to Ohio Casualty.

“This award is a badge of honor for a carrier that has been so supportive of professional insurance agents over the years,” said PIA National President Donna Pile in a statement.

“With Ohio Casualty, I have always been able to sell with confidence knowing they treat their customers as I would want them to be treated. That is critical to my success as an agent,” she added.

Mike Winner, president and chief executive officer of the Fairfield, Ohio-based insurer, said, “We have a long tradition of fully supporting the independent agency system through our partnership with PIA and our continuing efforts to offer competitive products, services, and state-of-the-art interface systems.”

He noted, “As a new member of Liberty Mutual Agency Markets, we remain focused on building and maintaining strong relationships with our local independent agencies.”

The award was one of three service awards given by the Alexandria, Va.-based association during its national board of directors meeting this year in Albuquerque, N.M.

Also honored were Donna E. Boyd of Zurich North America Commercial, named the 2007 Company Representative of the Year, and The Robert A. Schneider Agency of Minnetonka, Minn., recipient of the 2007 Managing General Agency of the Year Award.

Ms. Boyd is a sales executive for West Tennessee in the small business unit of Zurich North America Commercial. Ms. Boyd is an active associate member of PIA of Memphis, Tenn., and was honored as the 2007 PIA of Tennessee Company Representative of the Year.

The Robert A. Schneider Agency has been in business for 33 years, working with all size agencies and not mandating any minimum premium volume, noted Robert Page, PIA National president-elect.

PIA said the Minnetonka, Minn.-based firm is also a leader in the implementation of agency technology, developing and administering its own client, accounting and imaging system, which has enabled it to become a completely paperless operation.
