Former Ohio Casualty Group and IBM executive John Kellington has been named senior vice president of ACORD. He has a long relationship with the insurance standards association having served on the ACORD board of directors and chaired the ACORD standards committee.

"John's background melds business and technology into a unique mixture that will enhance ACORD's standards and help spread them across the enterprise and around the world," says Gregory A. Maciag, president and CEO of ACORD. "Having worked with John on both the ACORD board and on the standards committee, I've experienced firsthand just how beneficial his knowledge and insights will be for ACORD."

Kellington joined the ACORD board in 2004 and served as chair of the standards committee following its formation later that same year. He also participated in the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum CIO panel in 2007.

Prior to this appointment, Kellington served as the senior vice president and CTO for Ohio Casualty and was a member of its executive management team, responsible for all corporate technology initiatives. During his 18-year career at IBM, he held several positions including architect and principal for IBM Global Services' national insurance practice.
