Hamilton, Bermuda-based Flagstone Reinsurance Holdings Limited said it has named Guy Swayne as chief executive officer of its Flagstone R?assurance Suisse SA division.
His appointment is subject to approval by the Federal Office of Private Insurance in Switzerland, the carrier said.
David Brown, CEO of Flagstone, said Mr. Swayne's experience, “particularly in specialty lines, will be a big boost to our development in Switzerland where he will continue to develop our International business on a global basis.”
A company spokesman said the Switzerland operation is the company's specialty line underwriting division. The office has grown to a point where it now needs chief executive oversight and Mr. Swayne was chosen to fill that position.
Mr. Swayne joined Flagstone in 2005 at its founding as chief underwriting officer, international. According to his biography on the company's Web site, he joined Flagstone from ACE where he was chief underwriting officer, international.
Prior to ACE he was a senior vice president with Aon Re Bermuda.
