Comegys Insurance Corner and Florida Contractor Insurance said they have agreed to merge the two Florida insurance agencies on Sept. 1.
Comegys Insurance Corner is based in St. Petersburg and Florida Contractor Insurance (FCI) in Brandon.
The companies' announcement said that FCI will sell its Brandon office building. The employees of both firms will combine all operations in Comegys' office in Bayfront Towers on One Beach Drive in St. Petersburg.
Following the merger, FCI will be a part of Comegys Insurance Corner.
Florida Contractor Insurance was started in 2000 by Mark Sierra as Choices Insurance & Financial Services.
Over the past 7 years, FCI said it has pioneered in the specialized practice of insuring firms in the construction industry.
Comegys Insurance Corner, founded in 1939, is headed by Chief Executive Officer Mark Berset with Linda Comegys-Berset as president.
It was announced that Comegys will start a new Construction Insurance Division which will be led by Mr. Sierra and the employees from FCI.
