Chicago-based insurance broker Hub International Ltd. said it has acquired Jacobs & Jacobs Inc. (J&J) of Roslyn Heights, N.Y. Terms of the deal were not released.
The J&J operation will became part of Hub International Northeast, expanding its presence in the Long Island, N.Y., area.
J&J has a large client base within the real estate, manufacturing and restaurant industries. The agency, which was founded in 1928, has maintained a strong presence on Long Island over the past eight decades and was previously managed by Robert Jacobs, president, and Ron Lewis, vice president.
The firm, which employs 12 professionals, will be relocated to Hub Northeast's current Long Island office, based in Woodbury. Mr. Jacobs and Mr. Lewis will report directly to Douglas Schenendorf, president, Long Island operations of Hub Northeast.
