Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., Brown & Brown, and Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs announced the completion of acquisitions in Indiana, Kentucky and Kansas. Terms of the deals were not disclosed in any of the transactions.

Itasca, Ill.-based Gallagher said it acquired Strategic Health Plans Corporation of Carmel, Ind.

Established in 1995, Strategic Health Plans offers a wide range of employee benefit consultation and brokerage services. These include benefit planning design, report analysis, legislative compliance assistance and employee communication strategies to their clients in the Midwest. They specialize in both self-funded and fully insured benefit plans.

Dane Hudson, the principal, and 14 employees will continue to operate at their current location under the direction of William Ziebell, north central regional manager and executive vice president of Gallagher Benefit Services Inc., a subsidiary of Gallagher.

Daytona Beach, Fla.-based Brown & Brown said one of its subsidiaries has acquired Weilage Benefit Specialists Inc., of Louisville, Ky.

Weilage Benefit, with annualized revenues of more than $1 million, has served the businesses of Kentucky and surrounding states for 20 years. The agency focuses on group employee benefits products.

The agency will continue to operate from its current location.

Richmond, Va.-based HRH said it completed its acquisition of Overland Park, Kan.-based The Resource Group, L.C.

Founded in 1985, The Resource Group is primarily an employee benefits brokerage and consulting firm specializing in group health insurance, ancillary benefits, retirement programs, executive insurance and financial services. The agency has reported annualized revenues of approximately $5.1 million in 2006.

The Resource Group's team of 37 professionals will continue to serve clients from the current location.
