New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram and Criminal Justice Director Gregory A. Paw announced the indictment of an auto repair shop owner and three employees by a state grand jury on charges of conspiracy, insurance fraud, and theft by deception.

According to the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Robert Buckingham, owner of Robert Christopher Collision, along with shop employees Paul Failla, Hector Henriquez, and John Yeachshein, conspired to submit false automobile insurance repair claims to insurance companies between April 2005 and July 2006.

Allegedly the scam included billing insurance companies for auto repair work that they did not finish, in addition to new auto repair parts when they actually used old parts. The indictment also stated that the defendants also enhanced damage to cars brought to the repair facility so as to increase the amount of auto insurance repair claims.

The defendants could face fines of up to $150,000 in addition to 10 years in a state prison and civil insurance fraud fines.
