Surety, a provider of data integrity solutions for the financial services industry, announced the release of AbsoluteProof Desktop, a desktop version of Surety's flagship solution, AbsoluteProof. The desktop version is a Windows-based time-stamping application that allows users to prove independently the time and content integrity of electronic data on their computer. This new delivery option facilitates subscribing, downloading, and using Surety's service without IT integration, according to the company, making it easier for small departments within larger corporations and small to medium-size businesses to use.

AbsoluteProof Desktop brings the same level of security and litigation readiness to individuals and small and medium businesses that enterprises have come to rely on to meet their legal and regulatory needs. The solution allows for users to seal their data to prove the time of entry and the authenticity of a record's content. "Small and medium businesses and the self-employed have the same data authentication and security needs as large enterprises," says Tom Klaff, CEO of Surety. "AbsoluteProof Desktop helps level the playing field between enterprises and small or medium businesses by giving smaller companies the same data integrity and authentication tools available to large businesses. This is particularly helpful in intellectual property disputes, for example, where an independent writer or inventor without a team of lawyers and IT professionals is looking to prove he or she was the first to come up with a profitable idea."
