EMC Insurance Companies has joined the Trusted Choice independent agent branding program, the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America announced yesterday.
The Des Moines, Iowa-based insurer is the 41st company member of the program, the IIABA, based in Alexandria, Va., said.
EMC provides property-casualty insurance products and services throughout the United States through 21 branch and service offices and writes reinsurance contracts worldwide.
The company was established in 1911 as an association of business people providing workers' compensation coverage to Iowa manufacturers. Approximately 80 percent of the company's volume is commercial lines, with the remaining 20 percent in personal lines, according to IIABA.
Trusted Choice, the independent agent branding campaign to consumers, was launched in 2001 by the IIABA. Today, it consists of nearly 7,200 independent insurance agencies, brokerage firms, their branch locations and 41 insurance companies, including EMC Insurance.
