Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto recently announced the sentencing for a body shop owner who pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud.

According to the Nevada Attorney General's Office, Richard Johnson of Incline Village was allegedly charging his clients' insurance companies for new parts and not placing new parts on the vehicles, but just fixed the old or damaged parts.

An undercover investigation conducted by the Attorney General's Insurance Fraud Unit and Farmer's Insurance confirmed that he was, in fact, billing for new parts and only repairing the old parts.

A release stated that Judge Janet Berry in the Second Judicial District Court sentenced Johnson to a one year suspended prison sentence with probation and was also ordered to pay $16,000 in restitution and investigative costs.
